Assault Android Cactus Preview

Assault Android Cactus is the debut game from Witch Beam, an Australian indie team of AAA game developer veterans. It's a dual stick shooter featuring a cast of anime-styled robot fighters that do battle against legions of out-of-control robots. At SxSW Gaming, we played a bit of co-op and gave it our Best Co-Op award. Sanatana Mishra of Witch Beam was on hand to coach us at the con, and he also gave me a key to check out the single player once we got through. Assault Android Cactus is still in Steam Early Access, so we're going to take a more in-depth look at it in this preview.

The Spatials Review: Spacemalls

How'd you like to run a luxury space destination? Maybe exploit some planets to make cheap consumer goods? Is Dyscourse worth your time and money? Read on to find out!

Giant steam-powered walking tanks called "ironcasts" are the latest weapon of this seemingly neverending war. On the eve of a massive French invasion, we join the British ironcast pilots as they make a desperate stand. For freedom! For glory! For giant robot combat and gem matching!

SxSW Interactive 2015 Post Mortem

Over the weekend, EBongo and I spent a considerable amount of time navigating SxSW Interactive and the events surrounding it. This was our second major gaming con of the year, and I feel like we learned a lot between PAX and SxSW. Still, though, there were things we could have done better. In this article, I'm going to take a look at what worked for us and what didn't, in the hopes that we can hone our game for the next round.

Con Report: Best of SxSW 2015 Interactive Gaming Expo

The SxSW 2015 Interactive Gaming Expo was a very enjoyable change of pace from the joyous gaming mayhem of PAX South earlier this year. Lines were a little shorter, but there were great games a plenty and agent86ix and I were fortunate enough to have many great conversations with developers working on the next wave of amazing game titles. The Gaming Expo is free and open to the public, so if you are a local gamer I would highly recommend it next year. Here are some of the best of games we saw this year:
