I did not get my Halo 4 Specialization Priority Alpha Code!

Specialization Priority Alpha Code WTF

Missing the magic Specialization Priority Alpha code email? If you are like me and the hundreds of posters on XBox Support twitter or the Waypoint forums, or even the imposter 343 industries forums- then you are without the

(https://www.withoutthesarcasm.com/posts/712 "Specialization Priority Alpha codes for Halo 4 are in the wild!") which you were told you would get for free. I find myself wondering which is larger: 1) 343 Industries ineptitude in delivering simple downloadable content 2) Microsoft's moral bankruptcy in both creating the scenario where it occurred (day 1 DLC), and admitting no fault or willingness to right the situation. What have they done to my Halo?

Well, if you are like me, then let me share what little I can to help.
1. **Forget XBox direct support** - I went there first, waited like an hour to talk to a person, and then had to wait 20 minutes more to get forwarded to a "XBox Live" specialist. Who was happy to tell me they could not help, and that they had already received their code. (good for them huh) The agent pointed me to the 343 forums.
2. **Forget XBox Support Twitter** - These guys were polite enough, but again just pointed the finger at 343. No help whatsoever.
3. **Forget the "343 industries" forum** - As kind of a sign of how much MS is dropping the ball, some fan site is squatting the 343industries.org URL. They are unaffiliated- no help whatsoever. MS once [threatened to sue a kid](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_vs._MikeRoweSoft "Microsoft vs. MikeRowesoft") named Mike Rowe to give up the URL of his given name - but they allow this?

# # So what can you do?

Well, the best I've seen so far is [this thread](https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst155922p441_The-Official-Specializations-Email-Thread.aspx "The Official Specializations Email Thread") on the Waypoint forums. It has been fraught with misinformation, but now contains the beginnings of a concilliatory tone and instructions to post your info for further review. It's not much, but at least it seems like a start. I've posted my info over there - by all means add to the pile.

Well, imagine my surprise. It so happens that I received my email at an email address I did not expect. All support and help folks pointed me to [www.account.live.com](http://www.account.live.com) which was TOTALLY wrong. What they meant was [www.live.xbox.com](https://live.xbox.com/en-US/MyXbox/ContactPreferences?returnUrl=https%3a%2f%2flive.xbox.com%2fen-US%2fAccount "XBL contact preferences"). Apparently, for no reason I can understand it is possible to have different email addresses at these different sites - and the latter is the one that matters. Check that site, and see if it helps you find the ***real*** email address they sent the stupid code to.
