How do I breed a Double Rainbow Dragon | DragonVale

Whoa, a new best dragon! It seems only fitting that it would be a Double Rainbow Dragon (all the way across the sky…). If you are looking to breed on of these awesome creatures and hatch one of those cool new Double Rainbow Dragon eggs, then read on:

Breed Double Rainbow Dragon DragonVale

Breeding Pair: (Firefly OR Scorch) + (Seaweed OR Swamp)

Breeding Time: 60 hours or 48 hours (with upgrade)

Availability: Unlimited

Type: Rainbow

Price: 3,125 Gems (It’s so intense…)

As I alluded to above, the Double Rainbow Dragon clocks in as the new highest earner among the Epic Dragons, and when it is placed in a Large Rainbow habitat with a partner, the resulting 1000 DragonCash/minute rate reclaims the overall top spot for habitat earning rates (reclaiming the throne from the Large Sun/Moon habitats with combinations of Solstice/Solar Eclipse/Lunar Eclipse/Blue Moon which topped out at 916 DragonCash/minute). So you can sell all of those Large Sun/Moon habitats you just finished making and start building Large Rainbow habitats :).

Double Rainbow Dragon? I don’t even have a single Rainbow!” you say. Not to worry, WOTS has a complete Epics Breeding Guide.

Actually a large cold habitat with 5 lvl 20 blue fire dragons brings in more cash per min than the two double dragons. Totaling 1300 gold/min. As long as you have them on a separate island without any contradicting elemental statues.

Hi Brandon, welcome to WOTS! You are quite right that there are higher earners than the Double Rainbow among the elemental dragons. This is why I mentioned Double Rainbow is the new highest earner “among the Epic Dragons”. The key difference being that the DragonCash cap for a Large Rainbow habitat is far greater than that of the elemental Giant Habitats. You can technically earn more with elemental dragons if you were to a) Level them all to a high level b) Check their habitat constantly – but even though it is possible it is not really practical (just like mass producing Dragonsnaps for food). Also, for reference the Panlong clocks in as the highest elemental earner. With 2 boosts it will earn 540/minute/dragon, or 2700/minute in any of the Fire, Water, Earth, or Air Giant habitats.

Shannon, welcome to WOTS! The combos listed are truly the fastest, but this is probably the rarest dragon in the game right now and for most people it will take many attempts. It may seem like other combos are faster, but we’ve checked the possible outcomes and breed times and the listed combos are currently the best. If you want to try your luck at a different combo, just try any two dragons that combined cover 4 different elements. There are many possibilities, but the others will produce longer wait times for the extra possible outcomes and longer average breed times.

I was trying all day yesterday for a Ruby dragon, but finally ended up with a Double Rainbow!! (it hasn’t hatched yet, but I had 60 hrs)…..I got it from using Chrome & Scorch, which has also gotten me a Gold Dragon. Hopefully next they’ll get me a Ruby! But for now am extremely excited I got the Double Rainbow!!

Could two regular rainbows produce a double rainbow?

Hi Cass, welcome to WOTS! No, that is not possible. The “breeding two of the same dragons” rule seems to overrule all others – if the dragons are the same, the child will be the same. I can’t think of any case (rainbow or otherwise) where there is an exception to this rule.
